Bernhard Schulte Offshore has taken delivery of its latest Commissioning Service Operation Vessel (CSOV) from Ulstein Verft in Norway. The vessel, named Windea Curie, was christened on 26 June and will be deployed under charter to TenneT, the offshore transmission system operator, to support grid connection infrastructure in the North Sea.

The Wind Energy Research Department at the Korea Institute of Energy Research (KIER), led by Director Cheol Yoo, has developed a design platform and supporting research infrastructure to enable domestic development of large wind turbine blades. As part of this effort, the team designed a 12MW-class blade, which has been verified by the international classification society DNV.

DNV has completed a joint industry project (JIP) validating the technical feasibility and performance of wind farm flow control technology (WFFC). Launched in 2023, the initiative brought together 20 industry participants to build a shared dataset and develop a standardised methodology for assessing WFFC. The project addresses long-standing uncertainties around benefit quantification and simulation accuracy, aiming to support future bankability assessments.

The Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems (IWES) has begun operating a new Dual Doppler wind radar system near the DLR research wind farm WiValdi in Stade, Lower Saxony. This system enables high-resolution, three-dimensional wind field measurements over a wide area and could support more efficient wind farm planning and operation.
