Floating Mooring System with VesselT12 Engineering has secured funding from the Offshore Wind Growth Partnership (OWGP) to further develop its floating wind technology. The project builds on a Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) study supported by Scottish Enterprise in 2025, which assessed the technical viability of the company’s Floating Mooring System (FMS).

The system is designed to improve access to floating wind turbines and increase the options for maintenance. It aims to allow major maintenance work to be carried out offshore while reducing reliance on heavy-lift vessels and lengthy offshore operations.

The latest project will further develop the design, improve structural efficiency, reduce material requirements and advance the technology towards commercial deployment.

It will also support the development of ship-based installation and maintenance tools, including heave-compensated systems for handling blades, nacelles and generators.
