Vestas secures 103MW order in New Zealand

Vestas has signed a 103MW engineering, procurement and construction contract with New Zealand-based electricity generator and retailer Mercury. The deal will extend Mercury’s Turitea Wind Farm from 119MW to 222MW.

1,000 kilometres delivery of wind components in Thailand

ALE Thailand TCIALE has completed the transportation of heavy wind components through a 1,000 kilometres route to the Rom Klao wind farm in Mukdahan, eastern Thailand. ALE was contracted for the full-service package: the transportation, craneage and installation (TCI) scope of 13 wind turbines components, measuring up to 5.4 metres in diameter and weighing up to 125 tonnes. With a hub height of 162 metres, these will be the tallest wind turbine generators (WTGs) in South East Asia.

Siemens to retrofit one of the largest substations in Germany

German transmission grid operator TransnetBW has commissioned Siemens to build new switchgear in the 380 kilovolt (kV) Daxlanden substation in Karlsruhe, Baden-Württemberg.

JDR wins contract for floating offshore wind project to power oil and gas platforms

Hywind Tampen signing JDR EquinorJDR Cable Systems has signed a contract with Equinor for the Hywind Tampen project. JDR is designing and manufacturing eleven 66kV dynamic inter-array cables and two static export cables, each equipped with a JDR designed breakaway system and a range of cable accessories for delivery in 2022.
