Construction begins on Horns Rev 3 offshore wind farm

The project will kick off when Vattenfall installs the first of a total of 49 foundations in the North Sea. Developed by Windlab (Australia), with support from Vestas, the 60.2MW Kennedy Energy Park phase I is the world's first utility-scale, on-grid wind, solar and battery energy storage project. The project is located in Flinders Shire in central north Queensland, Australia. Kennedy Phase I will feature 43.2MW of Vestas' V136-3.6MW wind turbines, 15MW of solar and 2 MW/4 MWh Li Ion battery storage, all managed by a Vestas customised control system that will operate the hybrid power plant.

Nordex awarded 25MW project in Northern Ireland

World’s first floating wind farm has started production

HywindHywind Scotland, the first floating wind farm in the world, has started to deliver electricity to the Scottish grid. The 30MW wind farm, operated by Statoil in partnership with Masdar, is located 25 kilometers offshore Peterhead in Aberdeenshire, Scotland and will power approximately 20,000 households.
