Low Carbon has submitted a Section 36 planning application to the Scottish Government’s Energy Consents Unit for the Forsinain Forest Wind Farm. Located in the Scottish Highlands, 3 km north of Forsinard and 16 km south of Melvich, the proposed site is predominantly within non-native commercial forestry and lies entirely outside the Flow Country UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Amazon has signed agreements covering four wind energy projects in Sweden, bringing its investments in large-scale wind projects in the country to nine, with an estimated combined capacity of almost 1 GW (985 MW). The projects are being developed by Scandinavian renewable energy companies OX2 and Eolus and are located across central and southern Sweden.

Trianel Windpark Borkum I has prequalified to participate in the balancing energy market with around 70 MW of capacity and has been supplying negative secondary balancing power since July 2026. Marketing started successfully on 22 July 2026. The offshore wind farm in the North Sea can therefore contribute to grid stability in addition to generating electricity. Balancing energy helps maintain the balance between electricity generation and consumption and keeps the grid frequency stable at 50 hertz.

Kernel has signed a loan agreement with Denmark’s Export and Investment Fund (EIFO) to finance construction of its first wind power project, a 94.5 MW wind farm in central Ukraine. The wind farm will comprise 21 wind turbines supplied and installed by Vestas. The project will also include industrial battery energy storage systems to help balance power output during peak hours.

Vestas has received two orders from Juwi for a total of 86 MW of wind turbines in Germany. The first order covers 43 MW for the Mehring II project, comprising seven V162-6.2 MW turbines. The order includes a 20-year service agreement. Delivery is scheduled to begin in the fourth quarter of 2027, with commissioning planned to start in the second quarter of 2028.

Suzlon has secured a 250 MW wind order from Torrent Green Energy, a Torrent Group company. This is the sixth order from Torrent, taking the companies' cumulative partnership to more than 1.3 GW across Gujarat, Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh.
