NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy have entered into a definitive agreement to combine in an all-stock transaction. The merged company will be more than 80% regulated and is expected to serve around 10 million utility customer accounts across Florida, Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. It will also own 110 GW of generation across a mix of energy sources.
Taihan acquires submarine cable installation vessel Skandi Connector

Taihan has announced the acquisition of the 10,000-ton class submarine cable installation vessel *Skandi Connector*, strengthening its offshore installation capabilities. The vessel can load up to 7,000 tonnes of submarine cable in a single operation and is suitable for both intra-array and export cable installation for offshore wind projects. It will also support the development of long-distance interconnection systems and high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission networks.
Boskalis to invest in high-capacity cable lay vessel

Nordex has confirmed acceptance of ZX ground-based lidar systems for standalone use in wind turbine site suitability assessments across a range of terrain conditions. The company stated that ZX Lidars products, using the free-to-use METICE (Multi-Site Ensemble Turbulence Intensity Cup Equivalent) turbulence intensity conversion methodology, are accepted for use in flat, hilly and slightly complex terrain.

The formal change of flag and operational handover was completed on 18 May 2026, after which the vessel entered its final commissioning phase ahead of deployment on upcoming projects.

Damen delivers first CSOV 9020 to Ta San Shang Marine

Eolos has commissioned its FLS200 integrated floating LiDAR buoy at the offshore wind development site of Azerbaijan Green Energy Company (AGEC) in the Caspian Sea. AGEC, working under an agreement with the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan to carry out early-stage studies and preparatory work in the region, awarded the contract to Eolos in January 2026.
