Mega Windforce is opening an investment round through the Eyevestor crowdsharing platform to develop its WhisperRing wind turbine from a proven concept into a production-ready product. The company’s first commercial product is the WR20kW, a 20 kW wind turbine with a 10-metre rotor based on a patented aerodynamic ring rather than a conventional hub.
Mega Windforce has built and tested a working proof of concept and completed the drivetrain for the WR20kW. The next stage is construction and validation of the commercial prototype, followed by preparations for certification, preproduction, manufacturing and market launch.
In Greece, a distributor with 1.5 GW of installed capacity has signed a letter of intent for 3,000 WhisperRing turbines. In the UK, Mega Windforce is in discussions with potential resellers. The company is also working with international partners on its first production facility.
The WR20kW is intended for applications requiring local electricity generation, including business parks, energy hubs, microgrids and energy communities such as agricultural cooperatives.
The new funding will support construction and validation of the commercial prototype, a subsequent preproduction series, certification, further development and preparations for manufacturing.
The €1.5 million funding round is open through Eyevestor at a pre-money valuation of €15 million. Mega Windforce’s current management team has invested €3 million, part of which is committed as co-investment in the round. Private investors can participate from €500 and will receive certificates representing an economic interest in Mega Windforce.
Mega Windforce expects production and delivery of the WR20kW to begin in 2028. The company also plans to develop the WhisperRing technology for turbines with higher power ratings.
