Sunrise Wind challenges BOEM lease suspension order in USA court

Sunrise Wind, a subsidiary of Ørsted, plans to file a complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia challenging a lease suspension order issued on 22 December 2025 by the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, part of the U.S. Department of the Interior. The filing will be followed by a motion for a preliminary injunction seeking to halt the effects of the order while the case proceeds.
Nordex secures 414 MW of wind turbine orders in France, Belgium and Portugal

Nordex has received orders covering 15 onshore wind projects in France, Belgium and Portugal. The projects comprise 78 turbines with a combined capacity of more than 414 MW.
Learnewable index shows sharp decline in onshore wind sentiment in the USA

Learnewable has published the first results of its Learnewable Sentiment Index, a monthly, county-level indicator tracking community sentiment and permitting conditions for onshore wind, solar and battery energy storage systems across the USA. The initial index cycle covers the period from December 2025 to January 2026 and shows that conditions became more challenging across all three technologies. Onshore wind recorded the strongest decline, with the index falling by 29 % month on month. The average onshore wind score for the period stood at –0.27, indicating increased difficulty in community acceptance and permitting environments.
Massachusetts delays offtake contracts for SouthCoast Wind and New England Wind 1

The US state of Massachusetts has again postponed the finalisation of offtake contracts for two offshore wind projects selected in a competitive auction in September 2024. The projects are Ocean Winds’ 1,287 MW SouthCoast Wind and Iberdrola’s 791 MW New England Wind 1, both awarded under a dual-state solicitation with Rhode Island.

Nordex receives 224 MW turbine orders from UKA in Germany

Nordex has received turbine orders from wind and solar park developer UKA for a total of 33 units in Germany. The orders cover N175/6.X turbines with a combined capacity of 224.4 MW and fall under an existing framework agreement between the two companies. The contracts also include a 20-year service agreement for turbine maintenance.
Goto Floating Wind Farm in Japan begins commercial operation

ClassNK grants Approval in Principle for Mitsui O.S.K. Lines cable vessel designs
