Germany approves Windanker offshore wind farm

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency (BSH) has approved the construction and operation of the Windanker offshore wind farm in the German exclusive economic zone of the Baltic Sea. The project, developed by Iberdrola, will be located 38 kilometres northeast of Rügen and will include 21 wind turbines with a total capacity of 300 MW.

Global operational offshore wind capacity reaches 80GW

RenewableUK’s latest Offshore Wind EnergyPulse Insights report reveals that the global capacity of fully operational offshore wind farms has reached 80.9GW, up from 70.2GW a year ago—an increase of 15%.
