Ørsted has exercised its buyback right for the Gunfleet Sands 1 & 2 offshore wind farm in the UK, where it currently holds a 50.1% stake. Gunfleet Sands 1 & 2 has been operational since 2010 and generates enough electricity to supply more than 125,000 UK homes annually.
Under the agreement, Ørsted will acquire the remaining 49.9% from its investment partners for approximately £15 million. The transaction is subject to customary closing conditions and is expected to be completed in November 2026. Once completed, Ørsted will own the entire 172 MW wind farm, located 7 km off the coast of Essex.
