Now in its eighth year, the Aberdeen-based programme offers tailored support, industry access and mentoring over a 14-week period.
Vattenfall secures permit for Nordlicht 2 offshore wind farm

The German Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency has approved the construction of the Nordlicht 2 offshore wind farm, the second project in Vattenfall’s Nordlicht cluster. Nordlicht 1 has a planned capacity of around 980 MW, while Nordlicht 2 will add around 630 MW.
Court sends SouthCoast Wind permit back to BOEM for review

A federal judge has ordered the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) to reconsider its approval of SouthCoast Wind Energy’s construction and operations plan for an offshore wind farm near Nantucket, USA. The decision follows a request from the Department of the Interior, supported by the Town and County of Nantucket, which brought the original legal challenge.
Nordex Group receives order from EnBW for wind farm in Germany

The Nordex Group has received an order from EnBW to supply and install ten N175/6.X turbines for the Derental-Lauenförde wind farm in Lower Saxony, with a total capacity of 68 MW. The contract also includes servicing the turbines.
Whiffle introduces Whiffle Atlas weather data service

Whiffle has launched Whiffle Atlas, a mesoscale weather data service providing access to 20 years of precomputed hourly wind data. The service delivers long-term wind time series at 2 km resolution across ten fixed heights up to 500 m, suitable for site screening and model calibration workflows.
Saudi Arabia awards five renewable energy projects totalling 4.5 GW

BW Ideol secures EU funding for floating foundation plant in France

BW Ideol has confirmed that its Fos3F project, a planned production line for concrete floating wind foundations in Fos-sur-Mer, has been selected for support under the EU Innovation Fund. The facility will manufacture serial concrete substructures using the company’s Damping Pool design for future floating wind projects in the Mediterranean and beyond.
Delaware challenges cancellation of US Wind offshore project

Delaware’s Attorney General has filed a court brief opposing the federal government’s move to cancel the approved US Wind offshore project off the coasts of Delaware and Maryland. The project received full state and federal approval in October 2024 but is now at risk after the US administration requested that its permits be withdrawn.
