ACP report highlights role of clean power in USA economy

The American Clean Power Association (ACP) has published its Clean Power Annual Market Report | 2024, highlighting the sector's contribution to the national economy. Leading purchasers of clean electricity included companies from the Fortune 100 and 500 lists, particularly utilities and major technology firms. Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, and Google together contracted 11.3GW of clean energy capacity in 2024—comparable to the total installed clean power in Florida, the USA’s fifth largest clean energy state. This reflects the increasing demand for renewable energy to power the expanding data centre sector.
Octopus Energy launches fund for clean energy investment

Octopus Energy Generation has launched a new investment fund aimed at pension schemes and private wealth investors, providing access to renewable energy projects around the world. The CG Octopus Energy Sustainable Growth Fund I (Astris) offers exposure to more than 50 renewable energy projects across 15 countries. These include wind farms, solar power installations, and large-scale battery storage facilities.

Future of Scottish offshore wind at critical juncture

Scotland’s offshore wind sector is at a critical juncture, according to the Chief Executive of Scottish Renewables, the trade body representing the country’s renewable energy industry. With a pipeline exceeding 40GW, Scotland ranks among the top ten global offshore wind markets. The current pipeline includes five consented projects, eight in planning, and 22 under development. Despite this potential, industry leaders have expressed concern that key investment decisions expected in the coming weeks are being threatened by continued uncertainty.
RWE reports lower earnings in first quarter of 2025

Sif opens expanded factory in Rotterdam

On 14 May 2025, Sif opened its expanded factory at Maasvlakte 2 in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The existing 40,000 m² facility has been enlarged by an additional 60,000 m² and upgraded from a traditional assembly plant to a fully integrated, robotised production line for monopile foundations with diameters of up to 11 metres and lengths of up to 120 metres.

BlueFloat Energy | Nadara Partnership completes wind and metocean campaigns

The BlueFloat Energy | Nadara Partnership has completed two-year wind and metocean monitoring campaigns at its Broadshore Hub and Bellrock floating offshore wind farm sites. The campaigns involved the deployment of Eolos’ FLS200 floating Light Detection and Ranging (LiDAR) buoys at the Broadshore Hub, located 50 km north of Fraserburgh, and the Bellrock site, 120 km east of Aberdeen.
LS Eco Advanced Cables launches consultation on Port of Tyne facility
