GE Vernova has signed an agreement with ESB (Electricity Supply Board) to supply 16 of its 6.1 MW-158m onshore wind turbines for the 96 MW Chleansaid Wind Farm in the Scottish Highlands. The agreement includes a 20-year service contract, with the turbines to be manufactured in Germany.

The turbines will use GE Vernova’s split-blade technology, which enables larger blades to be transported to remote and logistically challenging locations. This allows the project to use a larger rotor while maintaining energy production and capture.
