Nexans validates composite-core monitoring technology for overhead transmission lines

Nexans has completed the validation of Corecheck, a composite-core monitoring technology developed with Epsilon Composite. The system has been deployed on a 380 kV transmission line operated by Dutch transmission system operator TenneT, enabling utilities to verify the structural integrity of composite-core overhead conductors during transport, installation and commissioning.
Salt River Project to add 600 MW of wind energy to Arizona grid

Pattern Energy and Salt River Project have signed a power purchase agreement for up to 600 MW of electricity from the SunZia wind and transmission project. Salt River Project will begin receiving 400 MW of electricity this autumn, with its allocation increasing to 600 MW by the summer of 2027.
Nordex announces 3.1 GW of order intake in the second quarter of 2026

Nordex recorded 3,054 MW of orders in its Projects segment, excluding the Service business, in the second quarter of 2026, up 32.2% from 2,310 MW in the same period of 2025. Order intake for the first half of 2026 reached 4,923 MW, a 9.6% increase compared with 4,492 MW in the first half of 2025.
Amprion revises completion date for BalWin1 offshore grid connection

Amprion has postponed the expected completion date of its BalWin1 offshore grid connection system by one year, following discussions with Federal Network Agency. The project is now scheduled to enter operation on 15 September 2031, instead of 16 September 2030. The revised timetable has been approved by the Federal Network Agency under Germany's Energy Industry Act. The developer of the connected offshore wind farm, Windbostel Ost, also supported the request.

EIA outlook highlights growth in renewables and battery storage

The latest outlook from the U.S. Energy Information Administration (EIA), reviewed by the Sun Day Campaign, indicates lower wholesale electricity prices this summer, continued growth in renewable electricity generation and a further expansion of battery storage capacity. Renewable energy sources are forecast to account for 25.94%of U.S. electricity generation in 2026, rising from 24.05%in 2025 and 22.49%in 2024. The share is expected to increase further to 27.29%in 2027. These figures refer to utility-scale generation and exclude distributed solar, which could add around 2 percentage points.
PlemCat test site receives environmental approval

Vestas reports more than 2.7 GW of announced orders in second quarter

Among the highlights, the company secured a 186 MW order in Québec, while announced orders in Germany exceeded 480 MW. Wood Thilsted and COP Frontier launch offshore wind foundation company Neretek
