EverWind has secured strategic investment from Nuveen through its Energy Infrastructure Credit platform to support the development of renewable energy projects in Nova Scotia. The financing will support construction of EverWind’s first phase of onshore wind projects and the associated development of the Point Tupper Green Fuels Project.
The investment amounts to US$175 million (CAD$240 million).
EverWind’s initial development phase includes more than 650 MW of onshore wind capacity across several project sites in Nova Scotia. Construction is planned to begin in 2026, with commercial operations targeted for 2028.
The wind projects are expected to supply renewable electricity through the provincial grid to the Point Tupper facility, which is planned to support the production of green hydrogen and ammonia.
An Indigenous consortium led by Membertou First Nation holds majority ownership in the first phase of the wind portfolio.
The financing follows technical, commercial and financial due diligence, including technical assessments conducted by DNV.
