INNAS and Hydrautrans are developing a mechanical-hydraulic transmission for offshore wind turbines with a capacity of more than 12MW. The Floating Cup Technology will be used for the transmission, invented and patented by INNAS. The hydraulic pumps and motors operate without internal metal-to-metal contact, which translates into a system without wear.

NRG Systems has announced that its longtime partner, Mumbai-based RK Systems, has supplied and erected India’s tallest lattice met tower. Commissioned in June 2017 in Southern India, the tower stretches 150 metres high and features an array of NRG products, including 40C anemometers, 200P wind vanes, 110S temperature sensors, a BP20 barometric pressure sensor, and a SymphoniePRO data logger with iPackGPS.

Barge Master and Bosch Rexroth have jointly introduced a new motion compensated gangway to the offshore wind market. The first actually manufactured gangway is currently being tested onshore at the Bosch Rexroth facilities in Boxtel, the Netherlands. In the near future the gangway will be installed on the offshore support vessel VOS Start of fleet operator Vroon.

Wood Group’s clean energy business has provided a control solution to improve the performance of for EDF EN Mexico's La Mata y La Ventosa wind farm located in Oaxaca, Mexico. The company was appointed to investigate the performance of the 27 Clipper C89 wind turbines at the 67.5MW site, where high turbulence and high wind speeds required some turbines to be run in a reduced power mode.

Dellner Brakes is introducing two new failsafe brakes to its SKP range for wind turbines. The new spring applied SKP 180 weighs in at just 315 kg and delivers braking force from 141 kN up to 226 kN through two brake housings, each containing a spring applied piston. The SKP 4 x 180, weighing 630 kg, combines two brake assemblies containing a total of four pistons to deliver braking force of up to 453 kN.
