Australian offshore wind developer Star of the South has released environmental assessment documents for public review covering its proposed offshore wind project and associated transmission infrastructure. The draft Commonwealth Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) and the Victorian Environment Effects Statement (EES) will be available for public review and comment from 18 May to 29 June 2026.

Iberdrola has agreed to acquire a 40 MW wind farm in the Basilicata region of Italy from Belenergia and Rgreen Invest. The wind farm entered operation in 2018 and benefits from a long-term incentive scheme.

Flylogix has secured a contract in the offshore renewable energy sector to carry out digital aerial surveys for the proposed Moray FLOW-Park in northern Scotland. The agreement with Offshore Solutions Group covers the use of drones to survey and map wildlife in the Moray Firth area.

Omexom, the energy infrastructure brand of Vinci Energies, has secured a five-year contract extension and expansion for electrical operations and maintenance services at six offshore wind farms in the Dutch North Sea. Following a contract period running from 2021 to 2025, Omexom in Germany has renewed and expanded its agreement for maintenance of electrical infrastructure, including offshore substations at two of the wind farms. The new contract will run from 2026 to 2031 and includes additional services and wind farms.

Ørsted and PGE Polska Grupa Energetyczna have started full-scale offshore construction of the 1.5 GW Baltica 2 offshore wind farm, with the first monopile foundations successfully installed in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea. The installation campaign is being carried out by Van Oord and will see a total of 111 monopiles installed: 107 for wind turbine foundations and four for offshore substations. Work is expected to continue until the fourth quarter of 2026.
