Northland Power has completed the installation of all 73 wind turbines at the 1.0 GW Hai Long offshore wind project in the Taiwan Strait. All turbines are now generating electricity, marking a further step towards completion. Final permitting approvals are expected in the first half of 2027, as planned, while overall construction costs remain in line with initial expectations.
Hai Long is being developed by Northland Power, which holds a 30.6% stake, alongside Mitsui (40%) and Gentari International Renewables (29.4%). The project is located approximately 45–70 kilometres off the coast of Changhua County, Taiwan. Once fully operational, Hai Long is expected to generate enough electricity to supply more than one million Taiwanese households. The project has a 30-year offtake agreement for its electricity.
