GreenPowerMonitor (GPM), a DNV company, has launched a new tool designed to standardise data across renewable energy assets and improve portfolio management. The Energy Data Tagger addresses inconsistencies in SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) data used to monitor and control renewable plants by converting it into a unified, machine-readable format.
Holger Matthiesen of Luxcara joins the Board of the German Offshore Wind Energy Association

The German Offshore Wind Energy Association (BWO) has appointed Holger Matthiesen, Director Offshore Wind & Green Hydrogen at Luxcara, to its board on 15 October 2025. He succeeds Jost Backhaus, who is stepping down following his move to Juwi Group.
First Inch Cape XXL monopiles arrive at Port of Leith

The first shipment of XXL monopile foundations for the Inch Cape Offshore Wind Farm has arrived at the Port of Leith. The 1.1 GW Inch Cape project will be the first to utilise the redeveloped port, where all 72 foundations will be offloaded, marshalled, stored and loaded out for installation. The first eight monopiles, each up to 103 metres long and weighing around 2,300 tonnes, were delivered by a heavy transport vessel that docked at the new deep-water Charles Hammond Berth.
Dominion Energy seeks proposals for solar, wind and storage projects in Virginia and North Carolina

RWE tests cargo drones for offshore wind operations in Germany

For the first time in German offshore airspace, long-range autonomous and short-distance cargo drones have been successfully tested in the daily operations of offshore wind farms. In a multi-phase pilot project, RWE demonstrated how different drone types can deliver spare parts, tools and consumables to offshore sites.
Natural Power appoints Gordon Burrows to lead ControlCentre

Natural Power has appointed Gordon Burrows as Head of ControlCentre. He joined the company on 1 October 2025, bringing more than 20 years of experience in power system operations, planning and control. A Chartered Engineer and member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, Burrows previously chaired IET Scotland and has held senior operational leadership roles at SP Energy Networks and Northern Powergrid, where he recently led the 24/7 control centre in Yorkshire.
Apple supports new wind and solar energy projects across Europe
