Goldwind installs first 6.5 MW turbine at Riyah 2 wind farm in Oman

Goldwind has completed the hoisting of the first GWH-182/6.5 MW wind turbine at the Riyah 2 wind farm in southern Oman. The project is being developed through a partnership between Goldwind, OQ Alternative Energy and TotalEnergies.
World War II sea mines cleared from Nordlicht offshore wind farm site

Geophysical surveys carried out over the past two years at Vattenfall's Nordlicht I and II offshore wind farm sites identified several magnetic anomalies on the seabed. Expert analysis indicated that these objects were likely unexploded ordnance dating back to World War II. During the spring, each anomaly was inspected individually using a remotely operated vehicle. This confirmed the presence of three sea mines, each containing an explosive charge equivalent to approximately 200–300 kilograms of TNT.
Aquora outlines cable installation and manufacturing plans for UK and Europe

Aquora, formerly XLCC, has been launched as a Scotland-based cable installation and manufacturing business focused on the supply of high-voltage cables for offshore wind and other renewable energy projects in the UK and Europe. The company plans to begin operations with cable installation services. This initial phase will centre on the use of a new cable-lay vessel, with cables supplied through a partnership with Orient Cables.
Kongsberg Maritime secures deck machinery contract for Hana Shipping floating wind construction vessel

Kongsberg Maritime has signed a contract to supply deck machinery for a new floating wind construction vessel being built for Hana Shipping of Korea. The 127-metre vessel is intended to support floating wind farm construction activities. Scheduled for delivery in July 2027, the vessel has been designed by Focal and will be deployed at the Ulsan Floating Wind Farm Construction project, located around 70 kilometres off the coast of Ulsan, Korea. The vessel will be used for mooring operations, cable laying and other offshore construction tasks required for floating wind developments.
Wind and solar dominate new power capacity additions in USA

New data released by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) shows that wind and solar energy accounted for almost all new generating capacity added in the USA in November 2025, according to an analysis by the Sun Day Campaign. Combined wind and solar additions represented 93% of total new capacity during the month, making November the second strongest month of the year for renewable energy growth.
HSI joint venture completes rollout of OSS Zingst topside for OST-6-1 grid connection

The HSI joint venture, comprising HSM Offshore Energy, Smulders and Iv, has completed the rollout of the OSS Zingst offshore substation topside at HSM Offshore Energy’s yard in Schiedam, the Netherlands. OSS Zingst is one of two offshore substations, together with OSS Darß, that form the OST-6-1 grid connection in the German Baltic Sea and will connect the Gennaker Offshore Wind Farm.
