Exus Renewables has signed an agreement with Masdar to acquire a 60 per cent stake in a portfolio of nine onshore wind farms in Portugal. Masdar will retain the remaining 40 per cent interest. The portfolio is located in the Guarda and Castelo Branco regions and is undergoing a large-scale repowering programme.
As part of this process, installed capacity is being increased from 144 MW to 164 MW. The projects are now in the final development phase, with completion expected in 2027. The repowering programme also includes plans to hybridise the sites through the addition of 110 MW of solar capacity. The solar projects will be developed jointly by Masdar and Exus Renewables.
