Danish Energy Agency has received bids for two offshore wind sites in the Central North Sea and Hesselø areas, following the tender deadline on 20 May 2026. The projects are planned to deliver at least 1.8 GW of offshore wind capacity.
The offshore wind farms are being tendered under a support model in which the Danish state guarantees offshore wind producers a fixed electricity price. The model includes a net payment ceiling of DKK 15.7 billion for the Central North Sea project and DKK 21.9 billion for the Hesselø area.
The Danish Energy Agency is now evaluating the submitted bids. The final tender result will be published once the evaluation process has been completed, which is expected by January 2027 at the latest.
A third offshore wind tender, covering the South North Sea area, is scheduled for autumn 2028. The site is expected to deliver at least 1 GW of offshore wind capacity.
