Glamox has secured a contract to supply marine lighting for the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan. The company will provide more than 900 specialised marine lights for the transition pieces of 35 wind turbines.

The lighting will cover the interior and exterior of each transition piece, including boat landing areas, guardrails, ladders and access doors. A variant of Glamox’s MIR G2, designed for offshore wind applications in Taiwan, will be installed on the transition piece platforms. FL60 LED floodlights, designed to withstand seawater and harsh conditions, will also be used.

The lighting will be delivered in August 2026 and is being fabricated by Century Wind Power in Taiwan and SK oceanplant in South Korea.

Developed by Synera Renewable Energy, the Formosa 4 offshore wind farm covers approximately 58 square kilometres and is located around 20 km off Taiwan’s west coast. Once completed, the project is expected to have a capacity of approximately 495 MW.
