Forum Energy Technologies (FET) has introduced the Model 6000 (M6000) launch and recovery system for subsea handling. Part of FET’s Dynacon product line, the M6000 is designed as a compact, integrated system for inspection and light work-class remotely operated vehicle operations.
It combines the A-frame, winch and hydraulic power unit in a single skid-mounted unit, enabling a single-point lift without the need for additional cabling or hose connections.
The first M6000 system, equipped with a Perry Super Mohawk remotely operated vehicle, was delivered to a USA-based client this year and is in operation. The system was manufactured and tested at FET’s facility in Bryan, Texas, allowing client involvement during fabrication.
The system is developed for use with inspection and small work-class remotely operated vehicles such as FET’s Comanche and Super Mohawk. It is suited to inspection, maintenance and repair activities, cable lay, and pipeline or structural inspections, with applications including offshore wind, dam surveys and light construction tasks.
Key features include a gimbal docking head with swing and sway functionality, a compact footprint and pre-wired electrical integration. The M6000 is certified by DNV and it has a safe working load of up to 5,200 kg and an umbilical capacity of 3,300 m.
