US court rejects federal pause on wind permitting after multi-state challenge

A Boston District Court judge has ruled in favour of 17 states and the District of Columbia, including Massachusetts and New York, finding section two of the 20 January “Wind Order” unlawful and directing federal agencies to end the indefinite pause on wind energy permitting. Section one of the order, which suspends wind energy leasing, remains in force.
Nordex to supply turbines for Alliant Energy Midwest projects

Nordex has announce it has been awarded contracts by Alliant Energy. Following regulatory approvals, Nordex will supply Alliant Energy up to 190 turbines of the N133 and N163 Delta4000-variants for projects in the Midwest, including Iowa, USA. Turbine installation is scheduled for 2028 and 2029.

Exus Renewables acquires German wind portfolio from Deutsche WindXperts

Exus Renewables has agreed to acquire a 69 MW wind portfolio from German onshore wind developer Deutsche WindXperts. The portfolio includes four wind farms under development in North Rhine–Westphalia and represents Exus’ first owned projects in Germany.
Amprion starts approval process for BalWin1 and BalWin2 onshore cable sections

Amprion has begun the approval process for the onshore cable routes of the BalWin1 and BalWin2 offshore grid connections on two sections totalling around 92 kilometres between Bösel in the district of Cloppenburg and the border between North Rhine-Westphalia and Lower Saxony. The company has submitted planning approval applications to the state authority and will hold an online information session on 8 January 2026.
Nordex receives turbine orders for wind projects in France and Belgium

Nordex has received new orders in France and Belgium covering the delivery and installation of 28 wind turbines across seven wind farms. Together, the projects represent 102 MW and each contract includes a multi-year service and maintenance agreement.
Vattenfall and Cemvision progress use of near-zero-carbon cement for European onshore wind projects

Vattenfall and Cemvision have signed a commercial agreement for the supply of near-zero-carbon cement for use in energy infrastructure projects across Europe. The material, Re-ment Massive, will be prioritised through subcontractors for Vattenfall’s onshore wind infrastructure in key markets.
NESO outlines updated connections pathway for projects supporting Clean Power by 2030

The UK National Energy System Operator (NESO) has confirmed a new pipeline of deliverable, shovel-ready energy projects that will be prioritised for connection to the electricity networks in the UK. NESO has worked with government, investors, networks, Ofgem, and the wider energy sector on an overhaul of the connections process. For years, outdated rules left projects in a queue that had grown to more than 700 GW, around four times what is required by 2030.
Seaway7 wins BC-Wind Offshore contract in Poland

Seaway7, part of the Subsea7 Group, has been awarded a contract by Ocean Winds for the BC-Wind offshore project. Located in the Baltic Sea, approximately 23 kilometres off the Polish coast, the site will feature 26 offshore wind turbine generators.
XOcean secures survey contracts for six Dutch offshore wind farms

Six Dutch offshore wind farms have awarded five-year survey contracts to XOcean. Eneco coordinated the agreements on behalf of the wind farms: Borssele 3&4 (Blauwwind), Borssele 5 (Two Towers), Eneco Luchterduinen, Hollandse Kust Noord (CrossWind), Hollandse Kust West VI (Ecowende), and Prinses Amaliawindpark (Eneco). Collectively, these sites include 303 turbines.
