Scottish Government grants consent for SSE Berwick Bank offshore wind farm

The Scottish Government has granted consent for the 4.1 GW Berwick Bank offshore wind farm, located about 38 kilometres east of the Scottish Borders coastline. Scottish ministers have issued a Section 36 consent for the main offshore wind farm array in the outer Firth of Forth off the East Lothian coast.
Canada and Nova Scotia designate four offshore wind areas

The governments of Canada and Nova Scotia have designated four offshore areas for future offshore wind development: French Bank, Middle Bank, Sable Island Bank off mainland Nova Scotia and Sydney Bight off Cape Breton. These areas will form the basis of the province’s first offshore wind projects, with the aim of licensing up to 5 GW of capacity by 2030.
First floating wind turbine installed for EFGL pilot project off Occitanie

Ocean Winds, a joint venture between EDP Renewables and Engie, has installed the first floating wind turbine for the Éoliennes Flottantes du Golfe du Lion (EFGL) pilot project off the coast of Occitanie, France.
EDP expands renewable capacity to 27.7 GW with 3.5 GW of new wind and solar additions in 12 months

Renewable sources account for 86% of EDP’s total installed capacity (EBITDA plus equity), reaching 27.7 GW as of mid-2025. This includes 2.1 GW of equity in onshore wind and solar across North America, Iberia and the Asia-Pacific region, hydro in Brazil, and offshore wind in Europe. Over the past 12 months, 3.5 GW of new wind, solar and distributed solar generation were added, mainly in Brazil, USA, Italy, Spain, Greece, Poland, Romania, Hungary, the Netherlands and France.
Rezolv Energy selects contractors for second phase of Vifor wind farm in Romania

Rezolv Energy, supported by Actis, has appointed its main partners for Phase 2 of the Vifor wind farm in Buzău County, Romania. Through its project company First Looks Solutions, Rezolv has awarded the balance of plant contract, covering civil works and high- and medium-voltage electrical systems, to Austrian company PORR. Vestas will supply 42 EnVentus V162-6.4 MW turbines.
EDP agrees to sell 150 MW wind portfolio in Greece

EDP, through its majority-owned subsidiary EDP Renováveis, has signed an agreement to sell its full stake in a 150 MW portfolio of operating wind farms in Greece to Principia, a company jointly owned by Enel and Macquarie Asset Management.
US Interior Department outlines new measures on wind energy policy

The US Department of the Interior has announced a set of measures that will affect the planning and approval of wind energy projects on federal lands and offshore areas. These steps follow a review of how renewable energy projects are managed on public land and waters. The Department will review whether some areas of federal land with strong wind potential should be withdrawn from future onshore wind development, in order to balance energy projects with other uses such as grazing and recreation. It also plans to end future offshore wind lease sales by cancelling previously designated Wind Energy Areas covering more than 3.5 million acres.
New York Power Authority draft plan outlines wind, solar and storage projects

Seatrium offshore wind progress in first half of 2025

Seatrium reported a net profit of 144 million Singapore dollars for the first six months of 2025, compared with 36 million Singapore dollars in the same period of 2024. Revenue increased by 34 percent to 5.4 billion Singapore dollars, while gross margin improved to 7.4 percent from 3.7 percent.
Subsea7 reports offshore wind progress and maintains 2025 revenue guidance

Subsea7 reported growth in profitability in the second quarter of 2025 with an adjusted EBITDA margin of 20.5 percent. In offshore wind, Seaway Strashnov and Seaway Alfa Lift began work at Dogger Bank C in the UK to install 87 monopiles. Seaway Ventus started installation of 95 monopiles at the East Anglia Three project, also in the UK. At He Dreiht in Germany, Seaway Aimery and Seaway Moxie carried out cable installation.
