The Spanish wind sector has launched a dedicated artificial intelligence laboratory aimed at accelerating the practical application of AI across renewable energy operations and value chains. The initiative is a joint effort between the Spanish Wind Energy Association and the Institute of Knowledge Engineering, bringing together wind energy companies, artificial intelligence specialists and technology providers.
Denmark receives bids for Central North Sea and Hesselø offshore wind sites

Nordex starts blade production at new Türkiye facility

Nordex has started production at its new blade manufacturing facility in Menemen, İzmir, Türkiye, in May 2026. The new site, located in the İzmir Free Trade Zone, covers a total land area of about 130,000 square metres, including a production building of around 90,000 square metres.
Study highlights €7 annual return for every €1 of EU wind funding

A study by Trinomics, in collaboration with DTU Wind, indicates that targeted EU funding for wind innovation and industrial scaling can deliver significant economic benefits for Europe. The analysis finds that by 2040, each €1 of public funding for wind could generate around €7 in annual economic returns. Gonvarri Industries signs 10-year renewable power agreement with Iberdrola

RWE starts construction of 42 MW Serra Giannina onshore wind farm in Italy

Iberdrola signs long-term Washington state power agreement for 199.5 MW Big Horn I wind farm

Iberdrola has signed a long-term power purchase agreement with Puget Sound Energy in Washington state through its USA subsidiary Avangrid. The agreement supports the supply of renewable electricity from the Big Horn I wind farm in Klickitat County. The facility has a capacity of 199.5 MW and generates enough electricity to supply around 70,000 homes annually.
