GE Vernova has been awarded a contract by Adani Energy Solutions to deliver high-voltage direct current transmission technology for the 2.5 GW Khavda–South Olpad renewable power corridor in India. The project will support the transfer of large volumes of renewable electricity from western India into the national transmission network.

US Interior Department pauses five offshore wind projects on east coast over security review

The US Department of the Interior has ordered an immediate pause on five large offshore wind projects currently under construction along the east coast. The decision follows classified assessments by the Department of War that identified potential national security risks linked to the projects’ construction and operation. According to the Department of the Interior, the pause is intended to allow federal authorities, including defence and security agencies, to work with project developers and state partners to assess whether the identified risks can be mitigated. Notices have been issued for Vineyard Wind 1, Revolution Wind, Coastal Virginia Offshore Wind, Sunrise Wind and Empire Wind 1.
Mexico approves five wind projects totalling 894 MW

Luz Elena González Escobar, Mexico’s energy minister, has confirmed the approval of five wind energy projects with a combined capacity of 894 MW. In addition, 15 solar projects have been approved, representing a total capacity of 2,471 MW.
Esvagt acquires two SOVs from Edda Wind, expanding fleet to 12 vessels

Esvagt has completed the acquisition of the service operation vessels Breeze Enabler and Brint Enabler from Edda Wind through a 100% share purchase of the two Spanish vessel-owning entities. Both vessels are on long-term contracts with Ocean Breeze in Germany and Vestas in the United Kingdom.
CIP’s 425 MW offshore wind bid cleared in Colombia’s first competitive lease process

Colombia’s National Hydrocarbons Agency has confirmed that Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners’ bid is eligible in the country’s inaugural offshore wind development rights process. Submitted through CI GMF II Cooperatief UA, the bid covers 425 MW in an offshore area of around 139.6 square kilometres (53.9 square miles) off the coast of Barranquilla.
California Energy Commission denies 205 MW Fountain Wind Project in Shasta County
