Taiwan plans to begin selecting developers for floating offshore wind demonstration projects in 2027. The programme initially calls for two projects, with the possibility of adding a third, and each project is planned to include between six and 12 floating platforms.

The projects are intended to support the development of floating offshore wind technology in Taiwan. The government plans for the selected projects to be completed and connected to the grid in 2032–2033.

The selection process is scheduled to begin in 2027. The programme forms part of Taiwan’s plans to develop floating offshore wind in deeper waters beyond the areas suited to fixed-bottom foundations.
