Hungary opens tender for wind farm grid connection capacity

The Hungarian Energy and Public Utility Regulatory Authority (HEPURA) has launched a tender for available capacity on the country's medium- and high-voltage electricity networks. The procedure is specifically aimed at allocating grid connection rights for wind power projects, with the first applications to be submitted from 1 September 2026. The tender is intended to support renewable energy development while maintaining security of supply and providing a transparent allocation of available network capacity.
RWE reports higher earnings in first half of 2026

US senators propose legislation to support offshore wind developers and speed up lease reallocation

US Senators Alex Padilla (D-Calif.) and Angus King (I-Maine) have introduced legislation that would provide adjacent offshore wind leaseholders with an expedited route to acquire surrendered lease areas and pause new offshore oil and gas leasing until those areas have been transferred or reoffered. The legislation follows several recent offshore wind project cancellations and proposed lease relinquishments involving projects in California, New York and Louisiana.
Final turbine installed at He Dreiht offshore wind farm

Cadeler has completed the installation of the final turbine at the 960 MW He Dreiht offshore wind farm in the German North Sea. The final turbines were installed by Wind Keeper under Cadeler's long-term contract with Vestas.

Ørsted generated 11.2 TWh of electricity from its offshore business in the first six months of 2026, an increase of 23% compared with the same period last year. The company also made progress across its construction portfolio, with all projects progressing according to schedule and within planned costs, including Hornsea 3 in the UK.
Nordex receives orders from EFG Energy Farming Group in Lower Saxony

Nordex has received orders from EFG Energy Farming Group for the supply and installation of twelve wind turbines for several citizen wind projects in Lower Saxony, Germany. The Erlte-Endel project in the district of Vechta and the Bad Essen project cluster in the district of Osnabrück have a combined capacity of around 82 MW. Each contract includes a 20-year service agreement.
