US wind market installs 593MW in Q2 2025 amid policy uncertainty

The USA installed 593MW of new wind capacity in the second quarter of 2025, a 60% decrease compared with the same period in 2024, according to the US Wind Energy Monitor published by Wood Mackenzie and the American Clean Power Association (ACP). Despite the slowdown, installations over the first nine months of 2025 are projected to exceed 2024 levels, reaching 3.8GW. Total annual installations are expected to reach 7.7GW, with more than half of that capacity scheduled to come online in the final quarter of the year.
Ming Yang Smart Energy outlines plans for 50MW floating wind turbine

Ming Yang Smart Energy has announced plans at China Wind Power to develop a floating wind turbine with a capacity of 50MW. The design features two 25MW rotors mounted on a V-shaped floating platform. The company intends to begin marketing the turbine immediately, with mass production scheduled to start in 2026.

Public consultation opens on Morven Offshore Wind Farm grid connection plans

A public consultation has been launched on 22 October for the proposed electricity transmission infrastructure to connect the Morven Offshore Wind Farm to the national grid at the Hawthorn Pit substation near Seaham. The consultation, which will run until 30 November, invites feedback from local residents and stakeholders on the Morven Hawthorn Pit Grid Connection Project.

Natural Power advises Neoen on European renewable energy portfolio financing

Natural Power has provided technical advisory services to support the financing of a diversified portfolio of ready-to-build renewable energy projects owned by Neoen. The portfolio covers seven European countries – France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Portugal and Sweden – and includes wind, solar photovoltaic, and battery storage projects with a combined capacity of nearly 400MW.
Jan De Nul launches cable-laying vessel Fleeming Jenkin

Jan De Nul has launched its new cable-laying vessel, Fleeming Jenkin, which will be used to install subsea cables for the transmission of renewable energy. The vessel measures 215 metres in length and has a loading capacity of 28,000 tonnes. Delivery is scheduled for the second half of 2026.
SMST to supply mission equipment for two new North Star vessels

Indeximate demonstrates cable monitoring technology at RWE offshore wind farm
