Kent secures contract for concept design of offshore substation for Five Estuaries offshore wind farm

Kent has announced a new contract with Five Estuaries, led by RWE, for a concept design study of a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) Offshore Substation Platform for the Five Estuaries offshore wind farm.
Nordex' order intake grows to 5.1 GW in the first nine months of 2024

In the first nine months of 2024, the Nordex Group secured 5,083 MW of orders in the Projects segment (excluding service business), reflecting a growth of 4 percent compared to the previous year's figure (9M/2023: 4,892 MW). Of this total, 1,726 MW were recorded in the third quarter of 2024 alone (Q3/2023: 2,251 MW).

Vaisala selected as wind lidar provider for wind-assisted propulsion project

Vaisala has announced its participation in the latest Wind-Assisted Ship Propulsion (WiSP 3) project, a joint industry collaboration initiated by the Maritime Research Institute Netherlands (MARIN) to advance wind-assisted shipping as a solution for reducing emissions and improving fuel efficiency in the maritime industry. Vaisala will provide its wind lidar systems for sea trials to test and validate wind-assisted ship propulsion technologies.

RWE and TotalEnergies have agreed to collaborate on two large offshore wind projects off the German coast, with a total capacity of 4 gigawatts (GW). As part of this agreement, TotalEnergies will acquire a 50% equity stake in both projects from RWE.
Canada introduces legislation to support offshore wind development
