Kent has announced a new contract with Five Estuaries, led by RWE, for a concept design study of a high voltage alternating current (HVAC) Offshore Substation Platform for the Five Estuaries offshore wind farm.
Kent has been entrusted with the task of conducting the offshore substation topside concept design and supporting structure foundation assessment and concept design.
The proposed wind farm is located approximately 37 kilometres off the Suffolk/Essex coast and is planned to be fully operational by 2031. Five Estuaries is owned by a number of shareholders, with RWE leading the development, construction, and operation. The project which will be an extension to the operational 353MW Galloper Wind Farm.
