Palfinger Marine has been selected to supply nacelle cranes for Vestas’ 15 MW wind turbines. Following a joint development, prototyping, and testing phase, serial deliveries of the cranes have now started.
During the development process, the nacelle crane design was adapted to meet Vestas’ specific requirements. The cranes support lifting and handling operations of loads up to 200 metres below the turbine for maintenance and servicing. The cranes are delivered to Vestas’ production facilities in Lindø, Denmark, and Stettin, Poland, where they are integrated into the turbines’ hydraulic and electrical systems.
