At around noon on 2 October, a turbine blade was damaged at the Greater Changhua 4 offshore wind farm in Taiwan. At the time of the incident, no personnel were working on the turbine and there were no vessels in the area. Ørsted confirmed that no one was injured and that a safety exclusion zone has been established.

Safety measures have been put in place in the surrounding waters, and the relevant central and local authorities and key stakeholders have been notified. Ørsted is working with the turbine manufacturer, Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, to assess the situation. The turbine is being monitored by cameras, while work vessels are on standby to respond if necessary.

Greater Changhua 4 is currently operated by Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy. The affected turbine is under warranty with Siemens Gamesa, which will lead the investigation into the incident. Ørsted is supporting the investigation, with personnel safety and protection of the marine environment as the main priorities.
