Glamox has secured contracts to deliver connected marine lighting and management systems for 11 offshore high-voltage direct current (HVDC) converter platforms being built for TenneT under its 2 GW programme.
The platforms will convert alternating current electricity from wind farms off the coasts of the Netherlands and Germany into high-voltage direct current for transmission. Glamox will supply about 3,500 marine lights per platform, covering exterior and interior areas, as well as explosion-proof lighting for hazardous zones and battery-powered emergency lighting.
Framework agreements are in place with Petrofac, which is constructing six platforms, Seatrium with three, and McDermott with two. Deliveries are scheduled to begin at the end of 2025.
