Iberdrola has agreed to acquire a 40 MW wind farm in the Basilicata region of Italy from Belenergia and Rgreen Invest. The wind farm entered operation in 2018 and benefits from a long-term incentive scheme.
The asset is located near Iberdrola’s Lucania Complex, where the company is developing several renewable energy projects, including the 20 MW Montelungo photovoltaic plant, which is under construction.
The acquisition adds to Iberdrola’s existing renewable energy portfolio in Italy, including the 174 MW Etruria Complex and the 243 MW Fenix solar photovoltaic project. Following the transaction, Iberdrola’s installed renewable energy capacity in Italy will reach around 450 MW.
