Taaleri Energia has selected Afry to provide owner’s engineering services during the construction phase of the Smiltene wind farm in Latvia. The Smiltene wind farm is located around 120 kilometres north-east of Riga and will comprise 16 turbines, each with a capacity of 7.0 MW. Once operational, the project is expected to generate about 330 GWh of electricity per year.
Afry’s scope of work covers project management, design review and construction supervision across all wind farm disciplines. This includes health, safety and environmental aspects, as well as substation works, civil works, cabling, foundations and turbine delivery. The wind farm is scheduled to enter operation in the first quarter of 2027. The project is jointly owned by Taaleri’s SolarWind III Fund and AEI, a fund managed by Lords LB Asset Management.
