Afry has been appointed Owner’s Engineer by Irish renewable energy developer Ecopower for the Upperchurch wind farm in County Tipperary, Ireland. Afry will act as project manager during construction of the 22-turbine project, which will have a combined installed capacity of 99 MW and a maximum export capacity of 84 MW.
The scheme will connect to the grid at 110 kV and includes the construction of two 110 kV substations and a 30-kilometre 110 kV grid connection cable. Construction started in January 2026 and the wind farm is expected to become operational in 2027.
