Triton Anchor, a subsea technology company with operations in Scotland, Norway, and the USA, has secured two patents in the USA for its offshore anchor and subsea deployment tool. A notice of allowance has also been issued for the anchor patent in Japan.
The Triton Anchor and its deployment system represent a new approach to anchoring for floating renewable energy. The design uses clusters of commercially available helical anchors combined with a template and skirt. The system is modular, fully reusable, and designed for straightforward installation and removal. The company is currently assessing investment options to support wider commercial deployment.
