Airloom pilot groundbreakingAirloom Energy has broken ground on its pilot research and development site near Rock River, Wyoming, USA. The company will construct its first utility-scale turbine at the location. The Airloom turbine design features vertical blades, or "wings", that revolve on an oval track mounted on posts.

The track can be scaled up by expanding the oval and adding posts, increasing power output. Multiple turbines can also be linked together. The pilot site is intended to validate the turbine’s power curve, test efficiency, refine deployment costs, and develop maintenance protocols. Airloom aims to complete construction ahead of planned commercial demonstrations beginning in 2027. In addition to standard onshore applications, the company will assess future uses including defence, disaster relief, and offshore deployment.
