Scottish Renewables has appointed Angela Hepworth as its new Chief Executive Officer. Hepworth joins the organisation from Drax, where she served as Corporate Affairs Director and Commercial Director, leading work on low-carbon energy projects. She previously held the role of Policy and Regulation Director at EDF UK, where she led policy and regulatory work on the Sizewell C nuclear project.
She began her career at the UK Department of Trade and Industry, working on energy security and the development of electricity markets.
As Chief Executive Officer, Hepworth will lead Scottish Renewables' work with government, industry and other stakeholders to support investment in the renewable energy sector and help advance Scotland's renewable energy ambitions.
Hepworth will join Scottish Renewables on 20 July and formally take up the role of Chief Executive Officer on 31 July, succeeding Claire Mack, who has led the organisation since 2017.
