ZX Measurement Services supports Wind2 with Lidar wind measurement campaignsZX Measurement Services is supporting Welsh renewable energy developer Wind2 with wind measurement campaigns using a Lidar-first approach. The programme combines ZX Lidars' wind Lidar technology with deployment, field services and power supply solutions across Wind2's project portfolio.

Wind2, an independently owned renewable energy developer, has used remote sensing technology for several years. After operating a fleet of SoDAR systems, the company acquired a ZX 300 wind Lidar in June 2025 and later upgraded it to the latest ZX 300e through ZX Lidars' Turn Me On programme, enabling remote activation of the enhanced 'e' mode capabilities.

ZX Measurement Services provides deployment, field support and power supply units, supporting the wind measurement campaigns from installation through to ongoing operation.

As turbine hub heights continue to increase, Wind2 has adopted a Lidar-first approach on selected projects to obtain site-specific wind data earlier in the development process. This supports wind resource assessments and project planning.

On a current campaign, the performance-verified ZX 300e is measuring wind speeds at heights of up to 250 metres, covering the full rotor swept area of modern large-rotor turbines. The system also provides wind shear and turbulence data at heights beyond those typically achieved with conventional meteorological masts.
