Eolos has commissioned its FLS200 integrated floating LiDAR buoy at the offshore wind development site of Azerbaijan Green Energy Company (AGEC) in the Caspian Sea. AGEC, working under an agreement with the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan to carry out early-stage studies and preparatory work in the region, awarded the contract to Eolos in January 2026.
Offshore Wind Consultants (OWC), part of ABL Group, acted as technical adviser, overseeing the scope of work and procurement process on behalf of AGEC.
Eolos is supplying its FLS200 floating LiDAR system, equipped with wind, metocean and biofouling monitoring instruments, deployed within the centre of the lease area. Additional seabed-mounted equipment is being used to capture current and wave measurements around the perimeter of the development zone.
The measurement campaign is expected to run for one year, providing data to support wind resource assessment and foundation and turbine design decisions for the project.
