Vestas has announced several new orders across Germany, France, Greece, Romania, Japan, and other countries during the second quarter of 2025. In Germany, Vestas has agreed four new contracts with Boreas Energie for a combined capacity of 175 MW. All projects will be located in Thüringen and will use the V162-6.2 MW wind turbine operating in 6.0 MW mode.
The Großvargula project will comprise eight turbines with a total capacity of 48 MW. The Greußen and Bothenheilingen 1 projects will each use seven turbines, delivering 42 MW each. Bothenheilingen 2 will feature a mixed layout of three and four turbines, totalling 43 MW. All four sites will be supported by 20-year service agreements. Turbine deliveries are expected to begin in the third or fourth quarter of 2026, with commissioning taking place between the fourth quarter of 2026 and the first quarter of 2027.
Additional Q2 orders amounting to 131 MW have also been confirmed. In France, a 50 MW project using twelve V117-4.2 MW turbines is planned, while in Greece, seven V136-4.5 MW turbines will generate 32 MW. Romania will see an additional 28 MW installed using eight V117-3.45 MW turbines. These projects will be covered by long-term service agreements ranging from 20 to 25 years, with commissioning expected between late 2025 and 2026.
In Japan, Vestas has been selected by Chubu Electric Power for the 21 MW Atsumi II wind farm. The site will use five V117-4.2 MW turbines, supported by a 20-year service agreement. Turbine delivery is scheduled for early 2027, with commissioning expected later that year.
In Romania, Vestas has secured a new 143 MW contract from Eurowind Energy for three wind parks: Frumusita, Vector and Pecineaga Northeast. The order includes the supply and installation of 23 V162-6.2 MW turbines and will be supported by a 20-year service agreement. Delivery is planned for the second half of 2026, with commissioning scheduled for the second half of 2027.
In Germany, Vestas has also signed a 115 MW contract with Enertrag for two projects in Brandenburg. The order includes twelve V172-7.2 MW turbines for the 86 MW Malchow Ost project and four turbines of the same type for the 29 MW Tantow 1 project. The projects will be delivered in the first half of 2027, with commissioning expected in the second half of the same year. A 25-year service agreement is included.
