Terma and the Lithuanian Wind Power Association have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore opportunities for wind energy development in Lithuania while addressing national defence requirements through monitoring and radar technologies.
The memorandum of understanding defines four main areas of cooperation: identifying territories where wind energy development is restricted and may require further assessment; exchanging non-classified information on relevant technologies; jointly preparing a non-binding concept for potential wind energy projects in restricted areas; and supporting competent authorities through expert consultations.
The cooperation reflects a wider trend in the defence and energy sectors, where technology is increasingly used to enable coexistence between critical infrastructure and sustainable development objectives.
