WestWind Energy has announced that the Victorian Government has completed its assessment of the Environmental Effects Statement for the 1.5GW Warracknabeal Energy Park, finding that the project’s impacts are acceptable.
When operational, the project could supply approximately 12.5% of Victoria’s electricity demand. The development includes up to 219 wind turbines and represents an investment of approximately $5 billion. The project is expected to create around 900 construction jobs and 35 ongoing operational roles in the region. It is also expected to generate enough electricity to power around 1.2 million homes in Victoria.
