FairWind has secured a 2.5-year contract with Statkraft to provide operations and maintenance (O&M) services for two onshore wind farms in Spain. Under the agreement, FairWind will deliver preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance services for the La Herrería and Pasada de Tejeda wind farms, located in the municipality of Tarifa in southern Spain.
The contract covers 34 Ecotecnia 1.6 MW wind turbines, which have been in operation for more than 20 years. The wind farms have been operating since November 2004 and generate approximately 120.3 GWh of electricity annually. FairWind will maintain a permanent on-site technician presence to carry out minor corrective maintenance and day-to-day operational activities. The scope of work also includes preventative maintenance and support for major corrective interventions, with specialist personnel deployed as required.
