Statkraft has approved an investment in the 280 MW Gran Sul onshore wind project in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Located in Santa Vitória do Palmar, the project has been under development for several years and has completed the required technical, environmental and regulatory approvals. Following the investment decision, the project will move into the construction phase, with work scheduled to begin in January 2027.
In Brazil, Statkraft operates 16 hydropower plants, 33 wind farms and 12 solar power plants that are either operational or under construction. The company has been active in the country since 2008 and employs more than 300 people.
