The Portuguese government has granted EDP Renovaveis the right to build a 25MW offshore floating wind farm in Viana do Castelo, according to the company.
The government will facilitate the connection of the future power plant to the public electrical grid. The project will use Principle Power's WindFloat technology. The Windfloat Atlantic is expected to begin operations in 2018.
