ARB Wind has secured a multi-year contract with Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) Offshore Wind Limited for Balance of Plant services and above-water foundation inspections. The NnG Offshore Wind Farm, jointly owned by EDF power solutions UK and Ireland and ESB, officially began operation on 24 July 2025.
Located around 15.5 km off the coast of Eyemouth, the farm comprises 54 wind turbine generators and two offshore substation platforms, all requiring ongoing inspection and maintenance to ensure safe operation.
Under the contract, ARB Wind will provide Balance of Plant technicians to deliver services across NnG’s offshore and onshore assets, including turbine foundations, substation platforms, the onshore substation in East Lothian, the O&M facility in Eyemouth, and storage sites in Rosyth and Blyth.
Above-water foundation inspections will cover all 56 offshore foundations, beginning with baseline and scheduled Remote Visual Inspections using unmanned aerial vehicles. These inspections will inform subsequent General and Close Visual Inspections, conducted on-site using techniques including industrial rope access.
