Ørsted has announced that its 704 MW Revolution Wind offshore wind farm is generating electricity at up to its full capacity. Located off the coast of Connecticut and Rhode Island, the wind farm began generating smaller amounts of electricity in the spring. The final of its 65 turbines was installed in September.
Revolution Wind is expected to generate enough electricity to supply the equivalent of more than 350,000 homes in New England. Ørsted sells the electricity to three regional utilities: Rhode Island Energy, Eversource Energy and United Illuminating.
